Purpose
This procedure is used to create or modify Manufacturing Load Centres. The purpose of having Load Centres in the system is to allow the allocation of Work Orders to a Load Centre during Work Order entry. This enables the system to be used to display/report on the work load at a give Load Centre, or across all Load Centres.
A Load Centre can be used to represent a physical element of the factory, like specific production lines, or machines used to manufacture your products, or the might be used to show a “logical” separation for teams, sections, departments or similar. Their use is optional in the system and how you decide to use them is entirely up to you based on your manufacturing process and the needs of your operation.
The term ‘Load Centre’ is configurable. See related topic: Manufacturing Details for more. Load centres are used in specifications and work orders.
