Stock Adjustment Reasons are used when entering Manual Stock Issues and Manual Stock Receipts. The use of a ‘Reason’ for the stock transaction provides:
- A consistent ‘standardised’ reason for manual stock movements which leads to better reporting
- A default General Ledger account to post against in the Manual Stock Issues and Manual Stock Receipts functions which promotes faster, more accurate transaction entry
Examples
Some typical examples of Stock Transaction Reasons are:
- Showroom stock
- Damaged stock
- Samples
- Rep Car Stock
- Promotional and Advertising
- Training and Education
Minimum Requirements
The entry of a ‘Stock Reason’ in the manual stock transaction processes available in the system is mandatory, so you must set up at least one ‘Reason’ for use in those functions.
