Accounts Receivable Pricing

Contract Price List Codes

Contract Pricing can be used to establish “Special” (non-Standard) product pricing for a specific customer or for a group of customers.

If you want to apply the same Contract Pricing to a group of customers, then you should create a Contract Price List ‘Code’ so that you only have one set of contract prices to maintain.

Contract Prices are linked to customers by assigning the Contract Price List Code to the Customer’s Details.

The actual product pricing is defined in the Contract Prices function using a specific Contract Price List code.

Note that Contract Pricing takes precedence over all other pricing criteria, including discount percentages. Where Contract Pricing applies to a given customer/product combination during transaction entry, the abbreviation “CP” will appear (on screens and reports) as a visual indicator.

Example

You have several customers belonging to the same “conglomerate” or buying group and they have negotiated contract pricing for a range of products for the next year.

You set up a Contract Price List code of ‘WFCP’ (for example) and set the Contract Price List Code for each Customer to ‘WFCP’. Then you enter Contract Prices for each product against the ‘WFCP’ code.

Minimum Requirements

The use of Contract Price List Codes is optional so you do not have to set up any. You can maintain Contract Prices per Customer, but if you have multiple customers on the same ‘contract price’, then using a ‘Contract Price List Code’ reduces the volume of data maintenance.

Changing Established Data

You can add new Contract Price List Codes and change the details of Contract Price List Codes at any time.

When changing the Contract Price List Code on a Customer, outstanding orders are not updated with the new price. Use the ‘Where Used’ view to see a list of customer’s using a Contract Price List code.
