Report Scheduling

Reports can now be Scheduled from the Report Launcher. This means that a user can set a report to run at a regular time to save having to do that manually. Many of our customers told us that they run reports on a regular schedule and “deliver” them to selected users in the company. With the use of this new “Schedule” function they will no longer need to do this manually. With one simple setup the report is scheduled to run. It is now simply “set and forget”.

Below is a sample of the new button on the Report Launcher form that is used by almost all standard reports in Online:

Note that not all report destinations will have this “Schedule” button appear. Only those destinations that run independent of a client device. In other words, these destinations:

• Email
• Fax
• Network Printer
• Server file “Save”

When a user selects the “Schedule” button, they will see the following details:

Note the similarity with the “Process Scheduler” which runs the End of Day/Month tasks. Basically similar scheduling features apply here with the ability to nominate when the report is run, and the frequency. The system will manage it all from there once the schedule is in place.
