Group Discount Levels allow you to combine Product Group pricing into a ‘set’ or ‘list’ which can then be applied to multiple Customers who receive the same pricing overrides. This makes maintaining Product Group based pricing an easier task than recording them for each Customer individually.
You are able to create a list of product group pricing rules that can vary from group to group by Price Level and Discount percentage.
Example
You have several customers who should receive a 5% discount on product group ‘spare parts’ and a 2.5% discount on ‘tools’.
Set up a Group Discount Level with code ‘PT’ and name it ‘Parts and Tools’. Under this group add product group ‘spare parts’ with a 5% discount and product group ‘tools’ with a 2.5% discount.
For each customer that is to receive these discounts, assign Group Discount Level to the Customer details.
The discounts are applied during Sales Order Entry and Point Of Sale for those customers and products with a product group contained within the discount group.
Minimum Requirements
Use of Group Discount Levels is completely optional, so you don’t not have to set up any if you don’t need to.
Changing Established Data
You can add group discount levels and allocate a customer to them at any time. If the customer already has product groups recorded with discounts/pricing, then those customer details are used in preference to the Group Discount Level. In other words, customer-based Product Group pricing take priority over Group Discount Levels for any given Product Group that appears in both.
Note: Only new sales quotes/orders/transactions will have the discounts applied. Existing quotes and orders are not updated with discounts retrospectively.
