Manufacturing

Headings

Step 1 - Code/ Description

Purpose

This procedure is used to create or modify Manufacturing Headings. Headings can be added to specifications. They are printed on work order dockets and can be used to “break up” the work order docket into sections.

Some examples we have seen customers use headings for are such things as showing distinct stages of manufacture, to differentiate between different machines or specific activities, or different departments, and to make sections in the factory more obvious. Here’s an example of some headings from a metal fabrication spec:

  1. Raw Material picking
  2. Cutting Machine Set-up
  3. Cutting
  4. Welding
  5. Drilling
  6. Finishing
  7. Packaging
