Upload Customer Products

May 18, 2020 in Order Management

Purpose

This routine can be used to upload Customer Products details from a file created outside of the system for existing Customers and Products. Customer Product information is used in Order Processing and e-Commerce to show the customers product information i.e. product id and description. This is an alternative way of entering these details and is useful where you are updating large volumes of new data. Using this method a “spread-sheet” style tool can be used to create a list of customer products you want with the product/colour details as needed.

You can use the Download Customer Products function to extract a spreadsheet of existing customer products. This can be used as a template for the upload.

Note: This function only uploads products for existing products and existing customers. For additional details on creating upload files see the note HERE.

Spread sheet format

The spread sheet must be in a csv format.

The first row of the spread sheet must be a heading row – it does not matter what the headings are, as long as they are meaningful to you e.g. you could have ‘Product’, ‘Product Code’ or ‘SKU’.

The columns required are:

Column Name Additional Details
A Customer Code Must be a valid customer on the Customer Master file
B Product Code Must be a valid product on the Product Master file
C Size Code Must be a valid size on the Sizes Master file, and must be a valid size for the product
D Colour Code Must be a valid colour on the Colours Master file, and must be a valid colour for the product
E Customer Product Identifier Optional. Enter up to 10 characters for the customer’s product code that corresponds to your product
F Customer Description Optional. Enter the description the customer prefers for the product. Up to 20 characters is allowed
G Exclude from e-Commerce flag Optional. Enter ‘Y’ if the product/size/colour is to be excluded from appearing in the customer’s e-Commerce portal
